“The licensor hereby grants the licensee a non-exclusive, non-transferable, limited license to use the software solely for the licensee's internal business purposes.”
The company is letting you borrow their computer program. You can use it for your own work, but you can't give it away or sell it — and you have to follow their rules. 📏
Basically, you're renting the app, not owning it. Use it for your own company stuff — no sharing, no reselling. And they can rent the same thing to other people too.
You may use the software, but you don't own it. Others can get the same license (non-exclusive), you can't pass it on (non-transferable), and it's only for your own internal business use.
A limited, non-exclusive, non-assignable grant restricted to internal use. The licensor retains all IP; sublicensing, assignment, and external exploitation (e.g. resale or SaaS) fall outside the grant's scope.

Is Explain It Easy really free?
Yes. Guests get 2 explanations a day without signing up, and a free account gets 3 a day. If you run out, you can watch a short optional ad for a bonus explanation. There are no subscriptions or payments in the app.
Which AI does it use?
Explanations are written by Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic, tuned with our own instructions for clarity and reading level.
Can it explain English text in Japanese?
Yes. Pick the language you want the explanation in, independent of the text's language. It works both ways.
Are the explanations always correct?
AI can make mistakes. Use Explain It Easy to understand, not to decide — for legal, medical or financial decisions, always check with a professional.
What happens to the text I paste?
It's sent securely to the AI to write your explanation and isn't stored on our servers. Please don't paste passwords, ID numbers or card details. See our Privacy Policy for details.
