1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the Explain It Easy mobile application ("App") or this website ("Site"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App or Site.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and IntrePe ("we", "us", or "our").
2. Description of Service
Explain It Easy is an AI-powered text-explanation app that converts complex passages into plain language at the reading level of your choice. Explanations are generated by Anthropic's Claude API.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. By using the App, you represent that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
4. User Accounts
You may use the App as a guest (anonymous) or by registering with an email address and password via Firebase Authentication. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at explainiteasyapp@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the App to:
- Submit content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable
- Submit personally identifiable information of others without their consent
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the App or proxy server
- Circumvent or abuse the daily usage quota system
- Use automated scripts, bots, or crawlers to access the App or proxy API
- Violate any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account without notice if we determine you have violated these Terms.
6. Usage Quotas & Fair Use
Free registered accounts are subject to a daily quota of AI explanation requests. Bonus uses may be earned by watching rewarded advertisements. Quotas reset daily. We reserve the right to modify quota limits at any time with or without notice.
7. Intellectual Property
All content, trademarks, logos, and software associated with the App and Site are the property of IntrePe or its licensors. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the App on your personal Android device solely for your personal, non-commercial use.
The AI-generated explanations produced by the App are provided for informational purposes only. We make no claim of copyright over explanations generated from your input text.

THE APP AND SITE ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that:
- The App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses
- AI-generated explanations will be accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose
- The App will be available at any particular time or location
AI explanations are generated automatically and may contain errors. Do not rely on them for medical, legal, financial, or other professional advice.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, INTREPE AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND LICENSORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE APP OR SITE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE PAST SIX MONTHS OR (B) USD $10.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless IntrePe from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising from your violation of these Terms or your use of the App.
12. Termination
We may terminate or suspend access to the App at any time, for any reason, without notice. You may stop using the App at any time and delete your account via the data deletion request process described in our Privacy Policy.
13. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions.
